SlashData is the leading research company in the developer economy: We help the world understand developers and developers understand the world. We survey 30,000+ developers annually - across 11 areas of interest, including mobile, IoT, desktop, cloud, AR/VR, web, games, data science, and machine learning - to help clients such as Microsoft, Facebook, Google and Amazon understand who developers are, what tools they love or hate and where they are going next.

We’re now looking for a full-time Data Analyst to help drive insights out of a wealth of data points relating to developer activity. You’ll be working based anywhere in Europe / Greece, working remotely.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a Data Analyst with at least 3 years of experience in data analysis to join our fast-growing company with the ability to undertake many high-profile data analysis projects.

You will be naturally curious and inquisitive and demonstrate a real passion for data and analytics, have an eye for detail and the aptitude to learn new technologies and skills.

What you'll be doing

  • Analysing complex survey data using Python, pandas, numpy, and our custom-built Python data analysis library.
  • Handling client’s business questions and data requests, by preparing data tables and charts that serve their research needs.
  • Building interactive data dashboards on our home-grown data visualisation platform.
  • Supporting senior research consultants and other internal teams (sales, developer outreach etc.) with data requests as needed.
  • Shaping the future of our in-house data analysis tools by actively recommending and/or contributing to improvements and new features.

The skills we are looking for

  • Fearless in data analysis and number crunching.
  • Background in statistics, mathematics, engineering or other quantitative field.
  • Strong Python skills, with a focus on pandas and numpy.
  • Advanced Excel skills (not our primary data analysis tool, but we use it occasionally).
  • At least a basic grasp of version control and git.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and manage your time effectively.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a data analyst.
  • Excellent English language skills (spoken and written).

Bonus points for

  • Advanced version control and git skills.
  • Past experience of working with JSON files.
  • Past experience of working with complex survey data.
  • Data modelling.
  • A passion for technology, and an understanding of how it’s impacting people’s lives.

Key success metrics

You will be successful in the role if in the first 6 months you have:

  • Become a dependable team member.
  • Fully familiarised yourself with our survey datasets and our internal tools for data analysis and visualisation.
  • Delivered at least 12 sets of data tables and/or graphs in response to client requests.
  • Built at least 6 interactive data dashboards.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to make a difference as part of the leading research company in the developer economy
  • Competitive salary
  • Bonus based on performance and company profitability
  • Flexible working environment
  • Annual training budget to develop your skills and career
  • Monthly book allowance from Amazon, on any book you like
